TurnUp Activism

I interned remotely at TurnUp Activism, a non-profit dedicated to increasing youth voter registration and educating young people about social and political issues. At TurnUp, I began as a member of the graphic design team, where I created social media posts as well as graphic templates for company-wide newsletters. Two weeks into the internship, I was promoted by the Program Director, to the role of Graphic Design Team Leader. This allowed me to work directly with the executive board at TurnUp and with TurnUp’s founder for important projects. This role gave me the responsibilities of a head graphic designer. I designed booklets and marketing materials that helped TurnUp gain necessary funding from potential donors. I also had to do a full website redesign for TurnUp. My liberal arts education that has combined technology and art allowed me to showcase my technology and coding skills. I was a valuable asset to the graphic design team because of the many multidisciplinary skills that I have acquired through my education. These skills allowed me to create beautiful digital and paper content for TurnUp. I was also recognized and awarded during a companywide meeting for my outstanding work.
